Trip date: July 26., 2014 - August 2., 2014
Until 2014 we did many short trips to Germany, but the first long holiday we made in the summer of 2014 was Schwarzwald (Black Forest). Schwarzwald is mountain range in the Southwest part of Germany in the state Baden Württemberg. It is not as high as the Alps but all tourist materials promised amazing scenes of nature and a huge number of landmarks.
We chose a location in the middle of the mountains in the town Todtmoos. It was a starting point for our trips around the entire Schwarzwald. It is a nice small town surrounded by a stunning nature. Read More...

LINDERHOF - CASTLE, AMAZING GARDENS AND A BIZARRE MUSIC HALL

garden-small
Trip date: July 4., 2014
Everyone knows Neuschwanstein. But there are more notable buildings of King Ludwig II in the Bavarian Alps. One of them is Linderhof. Linderhof is almost the opposite of Neuschwanstein. Neuschwanstein looks like a medieval castle with fortification, built on the hill for defensive reasons. Unlike Neuschwanstein, Linderhof is a low two-story building, built in a valley, surrounded by wonderful extensive gardens. Read More...

In the summer of 2015, we spent our holiday in the north. Our son had a softball camp in Denmark that year, so we gave him a lift and combined it with our holiday. We stayed in Denmark only as long as necessary, and as usual for me, I planned most of our holiday in Germany :). Read More...

Trip date: July 2-4, 2015
We spent our family holiday in summer of 2015 by taking trips around the north of Germany.

When I was planning this holiday, I realized that we have a special round (Já nevím, co to znamená) wedding anniversary and I got an idea: instead of standard hotel I could book something special.
I am an experienced user of booking.com. As a rule I try to find something good and cheap. For this time I made a change. Read More...

IMG_0710-small
Trip date: July 6, 2015
We travelled around the north Germany in the summer of 2015. And it was clear that one of the destinations that we could not omit was Hamburg. I had a great deal of knowledge about this city.
• I knew that it is the country's biggest port and the second-busiest in Europe,
• Despite the fact that it is a seaport, it is a distance of 100 kilometers from the North Sea.
• I knew that it is also Germany's second largest city with a population of over 1.8 million.
• I knew that there is the glorious red-light district Reeperbahn, where the Beatles as teenagers played here in a local club.
• I knew that there two well-known football clubs: Hamburger SV and FC St. Pauli. Read More...

ROTHENBURG - TRIP TO THE MIDDLE AGES

Trip date: July 6, 2014
Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a small town in the middle of Germany. I think nowhere else in Europe can you find such a number of original buildings dating from the middle ages.
We did a stopover on our way from the Alps. Rothenburg is a few kilometers from highway number 7 leading from the south border of Germany to the north. We knew that Rothenburg is a romantic city, but what we saw surpassed our expectations.          Read More...

FRANKFURT AM MAIN - MOTORSHOW

Trip dates: September 21-22, 2013
Our next trip was inspired by question of my colleague, “Have you ever been to Motor Show”? He meant one of the biggest auto fair when alternates between Frankfurt and Paris every other year.
It was in 2013 that Motor Show took place in Frankfurt and because it was in Germany, I started to plan the trip.
Frankfurt is known as financial center with skyscrapers and I love the views from the towers and lookouts.  This is probably the reason why first of all I found the observation deck at Main Tower. The platform is at a height more than 200 m with the stunning views across the city. Read More...

When looked at website, I found on the web the Concord and lots of other amazing exhibits - among other things, the brother of Concord - Russian plane TU 144. Trip dates: March 29-30, 2013
Because we were excited by the trip to Sinsheim and Speyer, I started to search for another destination. And I found Autostadt in Wolfsburg. There were a lot of recommendations on web and even on TV. The photos of the buildings inside look really great. The Wolfsburg is not close to Prague and so I decided to plan this trip for two days and to combine it with a visit of the Phaeno in Wolfburg. Phaeno is interactive science center. It is located in the interesting modern building that is designed by prominent architect Zada Hadid. Read More...
